Today I'm going to lead you astray -- from my own site, that is. Recently I came upon a blog post by Jefferson Smith entitled "Why showing is both more and less than telling." As writers, we hear the phrase, "show, don't tell." I'll be honest, it took me awhile to understand exactly what that meant. I wish this post had been out some years ago; my understanding would have hit upon me quicker than a lightbulb.
